We've all probably heard the theory that exercise builds muscle because it breaks down the muscle fibre and then rebuilds through scar tissue. Well it turns out that's wrong.

Jason and Greg chat to Professor Eugene Terentjev and Neil Ibata of Cambridge University Cavendish Lab. Their latest research has answered how exercise builds muscle. Not only that, the physicists have built a  mathematical model that predicts the amount of force or effort needed to optimize your exercise.
